We're back in Athens! This is our third time in Athens in the last two weeks, somehow we just keep coming back! Mostly because it's a fantastic jumping-off point for the rest of Greece. Santorini, Mykonos, Zakynthos - all the best islands! Of course Athens is a stunning place on it's own. This time we arrived on International Museum Day, so absolutely everything was free to enter! It was so ideal, so we adventured all over the city and saw ABSOLUTELY everything! My favourite part was the Parthenon, the giant temple built in 447BC. Coming from New Zealand where our known history only dates back a few hundred years, it's incredible to hear about the empires and constructions that happened. The Acropolis was dedicated to Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom (fun fact: I was nearly named Athena!). Everything is monumental in Athens. Now, please put your seat back upright and tray table folded away to prepare for take off... we're headed to Croatia, baby! x
