Updated 2nd June 2025
I landed a backflip on a trampoline last month, which has been a dream of mine for a long time. I hesitated working on it because of fear, but in May I did it! I’ve been filming a lot of videos for my YouTube channel, and next week I’ll start releasing them.
Goals I’m working on right now:
7 figure business
Landing a standing backflip
5000 subscribers on YouTube

Hey! I’m Sarah.
I set goals to feel alive.
Sweaty palms.
Racing heart.
Can’t think of anything else.Combining my background in Psychology with my training as a High Performance Coach, I help ambitious entrepreneurs, creatives and athletes achieve their goals.
l created this blog to share behind-the-scenes of my own goals and help you push your limits. I'm creating what I wish existed for me to consume.
People often ask if I’ll climb Mt Everest like my parents did in the 90's (as depicted in the 2015 film, Everest).
While I’ve done a little bit of mountaineering (Kilimanjaro in 2011 and Everest Base Camp in 2007) what most people don’t know is that my late dad was also an entrepreneur. I feel most connected to him through our shared love of entrepreneurship and attempting the impossible in all areas of life.

Haters Are Actually Lovers In Disguise
So I shared a post about my goals in a Facebook group, and a guy commented saying “cringe.”
I clicked on his profile and immediately this quote came up:
“In a world where you can be anything, be kind.”
I’ve been having discussions with a lot of people in my life recently about being a “good person” or a “bad person”.
I don’t believe there’s such a thing. People aren’t good or bad. Every action gives us a chance to be kind or unkind.
He chose an unkind action this time, but I can clearly tell he is trying to mostly take kind actions, so I have no hard feelings.
A new belief I’m choosing: haters are actually lovers in disguise.
My Morning Routine
Beautiful beach house on my run
I was on a call with my coach Angie this morning, and she absolutely kicked my booty on the topic of morning routines. I told her I had committed to doing a morning routine every day this month, but I’d been doing a really half-hearted job.
She asked me, if I was truly living into my ideal self, my fullest potential, would I be pressing snooze 9 times and waking up at 11am, checking Facebook in bed, and then rushing to get ready for the day because I was late? Um, no.
Angie was right. If I want to play in the big leagues, I’ve got to start acting like someone who already does.
So I committed to Angie that I would do a full morning routine today, and for the rest of the month.
Here is what I ended up doing:
Meditation
I used the Insight Timer app and did the “Good Morning Gratitude Practice” by David Gandelman. It was very peaceful. Usually, I struggle to do meditation in the morning because I just fall back asleep, but I’m hoping to get into a better habit of trying to do it anyway.Affirmation
My favourite affirmation in the world is “I am unstoppable!” (And the explicit version, if you know what I mean). Because it doesn’t matter what mood you’re in or how you feel – happy, sad, tired, anxious, depressed – it always feels good to say and keeps you motivated.Visualization
I sat with my vision board and envisioned my goals – small and big. I visualised welcoming 2000 Facebook Group members in my Impossible Girls group (join here!). I imagined being able to do 100 push ups in a row with ease. I thought about it in detail – what it would feel like, what I would do when I achieved them, and how I would celebrate.Exercise
I used to believe exercise in the morning really sucked. But today I stepped into my ideal self and thought “Would Tony Robbins skip exercise in the morning?” HELL NO. And then I just did it. I went for a run. It was almost effortless. If Tony would do it, then I’m going to do it.Reading
One of my May Goals is to read 10 pages of a book every single day. I have been, but I’ve usually been doing it in the evening, right before I fall asleep. This morning, it was so much easier to read when my mind was properly alert. (P.S. I’m reading How To Win Friends & Influence People – for the third time, it’s that good!).Journaling
I journaled on my goals. Here are the questions I asked:
1) What are 3 things I’m grateful for?
2) What result do I want in my life?
3) Who do I need to be to get that result?
4) Now that I already am that person, what do I do/say/think/eat/wear/believe?Cold shower
I had always thought taking cold showers had to be for the entire time. But Angie suggested turning the handle to hot, and then getting it in and turning it on. The time that it takes to heat up from cold to hot is the only time you have to bear. Although it was a serious shock to the system, it only lasted 10 seconds and then the warm water felt soooo good. I’m definitely doing this every morning from now on!
The beauty of this morning routine is that there is no expected timing to it. You could spend 60 seconds on each of these tasks, and be done in 7 minutes. Or even less! Now I have no excuses left not to do this every morning.
Let me know if you have any suggestions for making my morning routine even more powerful!
Don't Discipline Yourself to Do 1000 Tasks
“Don’t discipline yourself for 1000 tasks. One. Only one.”
This was a reply that one of the members of my Impossible Incubator gave to another who was feeling overwhelmed with her to do list today.
And it reminded me how easy it is to get wrapped up in setting myself a million to-do list tasks, and then having to stay up all night to get them done.
I’ve written about this before. “Don’t put too many things on your plate” is not a new idea. And yet, somehow when I read it from my member today, it hit me like a ton of bricks.
I’ve totally been doing this. Guiiiilty.
This was my to do list yesterday:
Morning Routine
Meditate
Affirmations
Visualization
Journaling
Exercise
Shower
Breakfast
Coaching call with Jessica, the winner of my Facebook Group 500 members giveaway.
Consultation with a new potential client
Apply to join a top-secret project (I will tell you more at some point!)
Complete work for an old client
Message Impossible Incubator members to remind them about our Prosperity Call tomorrow
Fill out the strategy session form for my new coach
Call with my bestie
Eat a salad with my lunch
Grow my Facebook Group
Post in my Facebook Group
Read 10 pages
Blog
The bold ones are things I commit to every single day.
That’s too much. Lets face it.
So here’s my plan to discipline myself to do ONE thing.
Aside from my blog post which happens automatically every day, I’m changing my to-do list to:
Meet people
Add value
Offer to help them
That’s it. Those are the only tasks I’m committing to (again, aside from my automatic blog posting which I do everyday now).
I’m going to try this technique for a week and see how I go!
May Push Ups Update
If you’ve been following me for a while you’ll know that one of my impossible goals is to hit 100 push ups in a row. Earlier this year, I hit 50 in a row, and then I got injured, trying to train like GI Jane.
Bizarrely, even though I haven’t done push ups in months, over the last few weeks I seem to be having more shoulder, back and neck pain than I’ve ever had before.
I’m currently doing physiotherapy via video calling (hopefully I’ll be able to see someone in person soon, once we leave lockdown). They’ve given me exercises to do and I’ve done a round of anti-inflammatory medication.
Here’s what I think has happened: I injured my shoulder doing push ups, and then aggravated it further working on my computer all day long. Now, even sitting on the couch causes my shoulder blades to seize up. Strange!
Walking helps, so I’ve been going for long walks, and I’ve had hot baths too.
I will get through this. I will come out stronger.
And I will not attempt push ups again until I am completely healed and I have a trained physiotherapist/experienced personal trainer around to guide me.
I’m still going for 100 push ups though. I will still achieve my impossible goal. I’m not giving up.
Commit
I used to be so flakey
I couldn't commit to anything.
And then 286 days ago, I found a post that fully changed me.
It's by a random dude named Sean Wes.
He told me to show up every day for two years.
Just commit to something.
So every single day for the last 286 days, I've posted on my blog.
Are people reading it every day? Probably not.
Am I getting better at writing? I think so.
But that's not even the point.
I'm not doing it to build a blogger following.
I'm doing it to teach myself to be the kind of person who shows up for my dreams – every single day, no matter what, even if I don't feel like it. Especially if I don't feel like it.
How would your life change if you committed to something every day for two years?
Unconventional Goals
Exercise, business, nutrition, finance, love.
There are few aspects of our lives that we are familiar creating goals in. Every New Year you see hoards of people joining the gym and ransacking libraries because THIS is the year they get fit/take up gardening.
But what about unconventional goals? What kind of things do we never actually think about setting as goals?
Like a 30 day makeover montage from a 90’s film.
Or staging a coup to overthrow the leader of your book club who never let’s anyone else choose the book.
Or working on your South African accent.
I like to set unconventional goals every once in a while. But they’re usually secret ;)
How to Make No-Drama Decisions
What if you just made a decision? What if you knew it wouldn’t matter either way? What if you believed that the future is already fixed in your favour? What if you chose to believe that no matter what decision you make, it will be the right one? That all roads lead to Rome?
That it doesn’t matter if you choose to stay or leave your partner.
That it doesn’t matter if you choose to go into debt or not.
That it doesn’t matter if you take the job or not.
That it doesn’t matter if you do the thing or don’t do the thing.
You can make the decision right now. No more drama about it.
I’ve decided to believe that the future is fixed in my favour. I feel so much better already.
May Goals
Okay, here we go again!
I will easily read 10 pages of a book a day in May.
(This is so that I don't have to read three books in one day at the end of the month like I had to yesterday, haha!)I will easily grow my Facebook Group, Impossible Girls, to 2000 amazing members by 31st May.
We’re currently at 500 after just two weeks! My mission is to make this group the most supportive hang out place on the internet. (Join here!)I will easily finish my Logo & Branding by 31st May.
I've spent ageeees (like, years) procrastinating making a final choice on this. I've decided to make it happen this month.I will easily eat a salad with every lunchtime in May.
This is a specific health goal because I really want to make sure that I'm eating healthy food.I will easily do a full morning routine every morning in May.
This includes mediation, visualisation, affirmations, and journaling. I was inspired by the book The Miracle Morning (which I read most of in one day yesterday, haha!). I did a Kris Jenner meditation this morning and it was amazing (you get to meet her in a cafe and imagine what she would tell you to do) Kris Jenner told me if I want to be successful, I need to work on my publicity (surprise surprise, she's the publicity QUEEN) – so I will add this as a BONUS goal this month: I will easily create a new publicity opportunity by 31st May!
What are your goals for May?
Drop them in the comments and we can hold each other accountable!
April Goals: Review
This month I blew my own mind!
Not just because I achieved all of my goals, but because of how I achieved them all.
These are the goals I set for April:
I will easily create 7 live videos (on Facebook or Instagram) by April 30, 2020.
Completed! My friend Nicole Middleton challenged me to do this. The first 6 days were torture, and I was vowing to never do another livestream ever again. I thought about telling Nicole I wasn’t feeling well. But I convinced myself not to – I knew that the habit of the habit was more important than the habit itself. Then the 7th day, I actually enjoyed it. Now I make them all the time. I did at least 15!
I will easily heal my shoulder injury 100% by April 30, 2020.
Completed!Earlier in the year I injured myself doing push ups, and then aggravated my shoulder further with too much work at a computer. I've seen a physiotherapist (online) and it's finally on the mend, thank goodness. Nothing is going to hold me back from my impossible goal of doing 100 push ups in a row – I will hopefully be able to get back into training soon!
I will easily join a volunteer project by April 30, 2020.
Completed! One of my main passions and missions is to create a world where animals are not unnecessarily harmed, so I will be volunteering for The Vegan Society. I’m super excited about this opportunity to contribute! I spent all month wondering what volunteer project to join (and I originally enquired to Age Concern NZ about telephoning elderly people weekly to keep them from being too isolated during lockdown, but they didn’t need any extra volunteers).
I will easily complete reading 3 full books by April 30, 2020.
Completed!I half-read three books, and yesterday I imagined writing this saying “I didn’t achieve this, but I’ll try harder next time.” And then I thought, I could just try harder this time. It’s not over till it’s over. And I still had 24 hours. I actually did it! This must be the most reading I’ve crammed into one day in years. But it was so worth it. Because it’s not about reading – it’s about deciding to be the person that I want to be. How will I achieve my impossible goals if I can’t even follow through with my monthly goals? I’ve decided I’m the kind of person who commits and follows through with her goals.
The books I read were:
– Grit by Angela Duckworth
– The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod
– Think & Grow Rich by Napoleon HillI will easily join a business program to advance my skills by April 30, 2020.
Completed!I joined Stacey Boehman's 2k for 2k program. This was a mission and a half because things turned upside with lockdown. But I was so damn committed to this. I wanted it bad. I got creative. I made it work. (Even if the money accidentally went into the wrong bank account, oops – it got sorted eventually!).
I’m looking forward to sharing my May goals with you tomorrow (this year is going so quickly!).
I'll Do Whatever It Takes
April is almost up, and I still haven’t completed two of my April Goals.
I haven’t read three books yet (I’ve half-read three different books).
And I also haven’t joined a volunteer project yet.
I had a thought today, like "I'm just gonna give up, there's no way I can read three books in a day and also join a volunteer project.”
And then there was this inner voice.
"Watch me."
When my intuition talks, I listen.
Why should I finish these silly books, it won't really impact anything, right? Wrong. Because I desire to be THE KIND OF PERSON who can achieve any goal she sets her mind to.
How on earth will I ever achieve my impossible goals if I'm not 100% committed to my smaller goals?
If I set a goal, I'm busting my booty to achieve it, right till the last minute, I’ve decided that’s just who I am. I don't give up.
So on that note: my next 24 hours is dedicated to finishing THREE books and joining a volunteer project. I’m going to do whatever it takes.
Looking forward to updating you tomorrow with my full April Goals review!
